OAKLEY CAPITAL AMONG POTENTIAL HMV BUYERS - REPORT: A number of names have emerged as potential buyers for HMV after the High Street entertainment retailer slipped into administration on Monday night. Reports yesterday suggested that Hilco, which already owns HMV in Canada, could be interested in picking up some of the brand's UK stores. Now, private equity groups Endless and Better Capital have been added to the list of interested parties along with Time Out owner Oakley Capital.

DANIEL J. EDELMAN, A PUBLICITY PIONEER, DIES AT 92: Daniel J. Edelman, the founder and chairman of one of the largest public relations firms in the world and a groundbreaker in the field, died on Tuesday in Chicago. He was 92. Daniel Edelman started the company, Edelman, in a small office in Chicago in 1952. It now has 63 offices in 26 countries with more than 4,600 employees and revenue of $660 million last year.

MAC MILLER SETTLES $10 MILLION LAWSUIT FILED BY LORD FINESSE:
In a surprising conclusion to a lawsuit filed by hip-hop producer Lord Finesse back in July, Mac Miller has apparently agreed to settle the $10 million copyright infringement suit alleging that Miller's 2010 song "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza" - which was built atop the instrumental track to Finesse's 1995 single, "Hip 2 Da Game" - was publicly performed and distributed without Finesse's consent. According to court records obtained by HipHopDX, a successful settlement conference for this case was conducted in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Henry B. Pitman for the Southern District of New York in December.

INDIAN STREAMING MUSIC PLATFORM GAANA'S APP ROLLS OUT ACROSS FOUR MOBILE PLATFORMS:
Gaana, one of India's top music streaming services, just launched its app, which is now available on four platforms (iOS, Android, BlackBerry and J2ME for Samsung and Nokia feature phones) to take advantage of India's vast but fragmented mobile market. The service, operated by Times Internet, allows listeners to browse through thousands of playlists, save their favorites, and launch radio stations from individual songs to discover similar tunes, based on its proprietary recommendation algorithm.

RUSSIAN COURT MAY DEFER PUSSY RIOT MEMBER SENTENCE:
A member of feminist punk band Pussy Riot asked a Russian court on Wednesday to let her serve the rest of her two-year sentence when her 5-year-old son is a teenager, arguing that separation from her child now will do irreparable psychological damage.
