HURT PEOPLE will HURT PEOPLE!
REMEMBER WHEN.......
Growing up and your parents made you mad? You would mumble under your breathe "I hate my mom" or "my dad makes me sick" but NOT once when you were mad with your parents did you ever think about causing them physical harm or killing them. I can also say that you & I are made out of a different cloth then this younger generation.
I will admit we see hate in our communities everyday with Black on Black crime! We have gangs, drug rivalries, jealousy & envy, stupidity and ignorance. And yes, the list can go on and on but I can only wonder what HATE, ILLNESS, DEPRESSION, CONFUSION or MINDSET can have so much lack of respect for life that they plan (whether short or learn term time span) killing innocent little children and adults in great numbers.
Yes, most of the time they always wind up taking their own life but if that is their end goal then why do they have it in their head to take others with them?
I want to say what most people never talk about aloud. But we need to. There have been too many massacres in our schools and colleges and in our communities.
Are we not paying attention to the threats? Are we not paying attention to their actions? Are we ignoring "their cry for help?"
So my message to all: "No matter how ridiculous you may think a situation is, if it offends someone, make someone mad, make someone act out of the norm.....if it brought about harsh words, or a (im gona get you look)....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lets start paying these signs close attention and stop brushing things off because it's something YOU wouldn't do....Cause guess what? Someone else will do it!!!!!!
If it's a situation where other lives are at stake and you can't handle it.... call the authorities but do not ignore it. Putting it in someone else hands for them to investigate is better then acting as if it never happened or won't happen.
Yes, every school/daycare facility and/or any where children are housed should have metal detectors because our past history shows us that "hurt people will hurt people and we must protect our innocent children!
Our nation is stunned by these violent acts, but we can no longer act as if these senseless acts/rampages are taboo or isolated. It can happen any where/any time so we need to add awareness into schools emergency preparedness plan where not just staff and administration are trained but in classroom workshops to educate kids on the warning signs that we have learned about from other incidents.
As educators, non-profits, social service, government officials and advocates, we must bring awareness too an open door policy of concern. Because when it comes to individuals not being able to handle situations or feelings we all know that it may lead to others getting hurt. So lets implement tools such as a drop box placed in several areas of schools where students can drop a note of concern about a fellow classmate. The same for the workplace; the hotline that most work places have should be open to families and friends who want to report something that may diffuse a situation or stop a senseless act and save lives.
These suggestions are only my thoughts but I am more then sure once the right people concentrate on a strategy; the right plan will be put in place.
My heart goes out to everyone who has lost a love one or friend due to violence and I pray that you are able to heal and find peace.
And you wonder why the film of the year is called God's Crying....catch it in 2013.....Truly yours,
Phillys Own Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl comments on the Bible Princess Blog...
OK Miss Cindy "the Bible Princess" I feel ya girl! Everybody wants to be the next Meek Mills, Rick Ross, Jay Z, Beyonce especially with that 50 mil deal....that they forget that doesn't happen overnight! It just amazes me that people think that just because you're in a studio day in and day out and just because you love the track you just "went in on" that it doesn't stop there! How do you promote? How do you distribute? How do you work up your buzz? And please don't say face book alone. Cause Honey that's just not enough!
And another thing while I'm at it....What's up with this lack of stage performance....and I don't mean just get up there and move your hands or walk back and forth hood "nonsense" that I see most of you do lol. I mean the "boys to men" "run dmc" and I can take it way back with "earth wind & fire", the "isley brothers" and "commodores." Yea, you can laugh now but look where their matching outfits, stage presence and just being in sync got them. I can honestly say its somewhere your not. Now laugh at that!
I swear yall young'ins are just so disrespectful to the hip hop era. You think cause you rap gangsta style, wear your pants off your butt and have a mic in your hand that you are doing something.
You forget, that as an artists you are a ENTREPRENEUR! Meaning you are the product! And how you act and what you say and do represents you....Now take a good look at yourself...go ahead....now after that look tell me how much of your hard earn money would you spend buying your music? Yea, I know you had to laugh yourself right?
Guys, the Philly AAV movement will have you think outside the box. Many of you don't even realize how much easier things would be if you had a job to support your career. And if you don't want to work then you have to use your God given talents to make money. And you ask how to do that? For one, STOP THINKING YOU KNOW EVERY DARN THING AND LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO TRY TO GUIDE YOU OR STEER YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. Listen, if you truly want to make it in the industry and expand you horizons....then join the Philly Artists against Violence Movement....and you know that only do positive! But give them a call and see, listen and learn.....
Until next time.......
Philly's Own Gossip Girl coming at ya!

Philly's Own Gossip Girl on the "I don't know" syndrome
We are coming into the year of 2013 and I swear I don't want to hear "the i don't know" syndrome
- I didn't know my son was selling drugs. I was wondering how he was buying new clothes & stuff.
- I didn't know my daughter was having sex. Hell, I didn't know she was that into boys.
- I didn't know my son kept a gun in his room. I never seen that before
- I didn't know my child was not going to school. I send him out the house every morning.
- I didn't know my son was hanging with him; he's a menace
- I didn't know by going to jail I was setting a path for my son to follow.
- I didn't know my kid was using drugs. I thought the red eyes were allergies & the slurring was IDK?
- I didn't know my son was doing home invasions. I thought he was just hanging out with his friends.
- I didn't know my child was in a gang
- I didn't know my child could not read. I work so the teachers mail the report card
- I didn't know the impact my domestic violence relationship had on my child
- I didn't know my child was having parties when we were out of town. We gave her everything
- I didn't know my child was carrying a weapon to school
- I didn't know my child was being bullied.
- I didn't know my child was bullying kids in and out of school
- I didn't know my child was that talented
- I didn't know my child like to read books
- I didn't know my boyfriend was molesting my child. He wouldn't do that; he loves me
- I didn't know my daughter was out here prostituting
- I didn't know my son was a stick up boy
For all of you parents with the "I don't know" syndrome. This film is created for you. To put that issue right smack in your face so it won't be room for denial. You know it's a shame half these babies are in jail or dead. These children who have lost their life how much of it was the parent's fault for lack of parenting. And you know who you are.... cause the guilt got to be eating u up alive. And the ones sitting in jail you the parents need to be right there with them...... if you not already. And yes we know that happens: fathers in jail with their sons or mothers in jail with their daughter. What a generation after generation tradition to uphold! And you think you not responsible? That the blame should not be on you? Yea right! Now if we don't make an attempt to empower the young they will continually revolve in that cycle and follow in the doom footstep of their parents. So, get this all you "i don't know parents" It is your responsibility and your duty to know!!!!
Because contrary to your belief: PARENTING IS A RESPONSIBILITY & NOT A PRIVILEGED
Philly's Very Own Gossip Girl,
Hope to see you all Saturday at MECCA

P.S. what "i don't know's" can you come up here....drop me a line or two
Philly Own's Gossip Girl......"ON SOME REAL TALK"
I could not have said it any better! Thanks Kit Vandy for your blog.... you just made my job a lot easier lol!..See you all soon! Philly's Own Gossip Girl xoxo
Ghetto.............Stop it ..............
" Time to grow up and get real, Hip hop is cool but ghetto is not. The ghetto is not a place to be proud off. It's a place where many people is trying to get out. I understand it because I grew up around it but I will never be ghetto with ghetto attitude." Simple, All men are created equal.~real talk~
I know that I am going to piss some people off but it's cool because this is my opinion. I can say from my own experience in life. I would not want to be ghetto and that real talk. I been there 1992 California. I have learned to change so much, a full 180 and it was not easy. Many people is trying to get out of the ghetto and you got some people that got it good trying to be ghetto (something wrong with that picture) Don't get me wrong I love hip hop music and all but being ghetto is one thing and hip hop lifestyle is another. I'm not talking about hip hop fashion or lifestyle at all, so don't get it mix up. I know what I am talking about.
Ghetto people talk real ignorant, mostly cursing all the time and talk real dumb. Always get mad about everything like a little kid. Most ghetto people can't control their feeling and will act out if you piss them off. They can not control themselves and will not listen to reason but enough of that. I can't stand people talking ghetto. I just don't get it but I guess using made up word and short slang makes them sound hard... Really? Same and dumb words over and over does not make you hard or smart but just real ignorant, so just keep talking the way you do. Being ghetto is not something to be proud off.
I am not trying to put anyone down but I just think we all can be better then that. I use to be the same, so who am I to talk. I am grown, I have kids and I want the best for them and ghetto they never will be. I worked to hard to beat the odd to make it and doing something with my life that has meaning. I have learned to change the way I talk and dress now for the better. I don't want anything to remind me of how tough it us to be for me. I am moving on and do something to better myself to do better in life.
Ghetto people want respect but don't even know what respect is. Respect is something we give to each other man to man that real talk don't be ignorant about it because most of us are strong enough to hold our feeling back as a grown man and let ignorant be because it's not wroth it. Many of us are grown and understand life.Having a family and trying our best to give our kids something we never had. I work to hard to get the respect I want because respect as a man doesn't not come easy when we are always judge by the why we talk and dress. It is so hard for me to defend my generation sometime but I will always try because I understand. I came from the same background but sad to see my people that can do better but chose not too.Our parent came so far and try so hard to give us a this opportunity to better ourselves but most of us just throw it away.So much opportunity here for us all but only if you want it bad enough. I understand being young and not knowing but being grown and still don't know(something is wrong there)~.real talk~
I am grateful for the opportunity that is given to me that is why, I am done with being ghetto and that is the past (so glad) trust me it was not easy trying to learn to change that why it takes a strong person . I am not a shame of my ghetto past because I know about it but to become better we must changed and that is why we left the hood because we want better. If I want better I need to learn to be better. I know what ghetto lifestyle got me and that is a whole bunch of drama over nothing and lack of understanding got me a lot of jail time. I'm glad that I made this far and never going back. I am not better, I just learned to be better then I use to be.~real talk~Posted by Kit Vandy at 10:20 PM

Blair parents were always going on trips leaving her at home. Although they made sure she had all the necessities she could ever need including a credit card for emergencies Blair chalked it up that her parents just wanted her out their hair. So every weekend she would throw a party with her friend from school. First it was alcohol and beer with a few popping of pills then the urge grew greater. Now Blair & her friends call it the “Skittles Party”. She wanted all her friends to bring the prescription drugs to exchanged and randomly ingested, in order to become intoxicated. That was the new ultimate high. On Halloween, Blair invited 9 of her closes friends over to have fun. They were too old to go trick or treating so she encouraged everyone to raid their parent’s medicine cabinet and order from internet pharmacies prior to the party and bring the goodies. That night her and her friends filled a bowl with such drugs as Xanax, a strong tranquilizer and powerful pain killers like Vicodin and Oxycontin. Psychotropic drugs like Zoloft, Prozac, and Wellbutrin, with other powerful pain pills and tranquilizers the bowl was filled with over 1000 + pills which they all laugh about and called it their "trail mix". Once the bowl was filled each of them took a handful of pills and watch as the other one took theirs first. Blair was so high that she did not notice her best friend Rebecca shaking over in the corner. Everyone just laugh at the newbie of the party not paying much attention to the warning signs that Rebecca was not playing and having difficulty breathing. It wasn’t until Chuck went over to Rebecca to wake her did they realize their party went terribly wrong.

"The bottom line is he got the votes," he said. "The [Grammy] ballot gets a really thorough audit by our auditors at Deloitte - and they do find block voting and other kinds of anomalies every year and they do end up disqualifying ballots because of that. But they found nothing really anomalous or wrong with the votes surrounding this nomination." Discussions are afoot, however, to change the nominations process. MTV News

The film “God’s Crying” is an intervention and preventive tool created to address the high surge of violence, substance abuse and incarceration among predominately African American children and families across our nation. We have created this docudrama to empower and educate young people by showing the consequences of one’s actions. Many of the stories are similar to what you have heard in the news but with a twist, the characters bring to light different choices and alternatives that were available after the “wrong” choice was made.

They were too old to go trick or treating so she encouraged everyone to raid their parent’s medicine cabinetand order from internet pharmacies prior to the party and bring the goodies.
