Hoping your New Year is good so far. I am well, but I am missing the Thursday night jams at Elena's Soul Cafe hosted by Hezekiah Davis III with Steve McKie on drums...because Elena's was completely destroyed by a fire on 12/24/12. So...I am happy to be performing with my band at an event benefiting 3 of my fav local businesses that were damaged in this fire. Please SPREAD THE NEWS....come out and support the owners & employees of....
Elena's Soul Lounge - long-time mecca to soul food, blues, jazz & hip hop lovers
Gary's Nails - where I get beautiful when I make some "me" time
Cedar Park Cafe - where everybody goes for french toast on a Saturday morning
Friday, January 257-10 p.m. at The Cedar Works
4919 Pentridge Avenue (just south of Baltimore Av)
Donation accepted at door.

Many neighbors have been asking how they can help businesses and employees affected by the Christmas Eve fire near 49th and Baltimore and its aftermath. The fire destroyed Elena’s Soul Lounge and its demolition in the following days damaged two adjacent, popular business storefronts – Gary’s Nails and Cedar Park Cafe.
On Friday, January 25, Cedar Park Neighbors and the Baltimore Avenue Business Association (Facebook page) are inviting everyone who wants to support these businesses to a community event held from 7-10 p.m. at The Cedar Works, the new community-oriented work and meeting space located at 4919 Pentridge Avenue. Donations for the affected businesses will be accepted at the door.
The event will include music and food & drink from local businesses. It’s also a great chance to meet and socialize with your neighbors and friends.
Here’s a Facebook page for the event where you can confirm if you’re coming: https://www.facebook.com/
Thank you,
Gretchen
