Black Music Month: The Sizzlin' Sounds of PhillyBlack Music Month returns, and it’s exploding with all of the sizzlin’ sounds of Philly. As the birthplace of this national celebration and home to some of the world’s top songwriters, producers and musicians, Philadelphia is the place to get your music fix. June is packed with serious talent and music, starting with The Roots Picnic’s all-star lineup and after party. But you know it doesn’t stop there! R&B diva Tamia shows her Philly fans some love, and soul-music masterminds Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff and other hit-making Philadelphians reveal the true stories behind writing their award-winning songs. Come jam to the Philly sound for a Black Music Month experience you won’t forget.

This one is for Philly party people that aren’t afraid to break a sweat on the dance floor. Sittin’ In, the Kimmel Center’s popular (and free) monthly music showcase, returns for a very special edition featuring DJ Rich Medina’s JUMP N FUNK. Catch all of the afrobeat dopeness, as Philly’s famous Avenue of the Arts explodes with an eclectic mix of vinyl and live instrumentation.
