Music is a universal and
international language understood by all human beings. Its messages are
polyvalent and perceived differently from a country to another, from babies,
kids to aged people. In the famous Spielberg movie “Close
Encounters of the Third Kind”, visitors from outer-space are communicating with
music during their first contacts with Earth inhabitants. Should God send a
message to earth, it would probably be in a universal and musical way....

We the Philly AAV agree. We have so many talented young people who if they learn more about the industry, how to sell themselves, promote themselves, how to use the social networks to build up their fan base or learn how to read the lingo of the industry can advance farther than what they imagine.
That's the difference between challenges and opportunities. Are you aware the corporations look for jingles to sell their products? They advertise this on various websites. You too can do this. You have the know-how. It's funny most of you will pay hundreds of $$$ to be in a showcase and there is nothing wrong with that. But you are the ones struggling at everything else.
Look at it from my point of view. Say you research Safe Auto website. And on their website they have a competition for a creative person; be it artists, PR or graphic person come up with a jingle and they will pay you $5000.00 for this jingle (if you don't believe me check out their site they do this) you would much rather pay to be in a showcase (which you may or may not win) as oppose to making money with your talent and creativity? hmmm....well that's what most of you do. You don't expand your horizons to see how you can use your talent to make money.
And I don't even want to mention the ones who spend all those hours in a studio...lay your tracks...then go out and sell drugs (and we know your not out there selling weight) so you penny pinching instead of again using your talents and creativity to make money!
If you are an inspiring artists, you MUST have the mindset of an entrepreneur. The product is you and you must learn how to value yourself, love yourself and promote yourself outside the box.
And for you artists who think you know everything ......know that time always tell.
And this statement hear.....a lot of people won't like it....but you older men past your prime who still hanging with these young boys in the studio being that "Old G" (35 & up) please get a job while you are still pursuing your goal of being the next Meek Mills or Rick Ross....I am so tired of mothers coming to me telling me about their dead beat kids fathers who are still in the studio (if you can afford it) or just dreaming of being a rap star and not being a moral or financial supporter with your own kids. Are you kidding me?
And you know who you are....Again, you too need to look into other options to using your talent. If you need help then register for our classes and come with an open mind because someone needs to tell you if you had all the answers......life would be different and far from a struggle. You feel me.
So, although we support artists everywhere who are doing positive things; we still worry what a thin line it is if you can't self sustain...........
