Two halves of what is believed to be the same woman were found at water
treatment plants in Los Angeles County on Monday and Saturday.
Los Angles cops are on the hunt for a killer after two halves of the
same woman's dismembered body were found in separate water treatment
plants.
Workers at a water treatment facility in Bassett, Calif., found a woman's upper torso floating in a settling tank Monday, local ABC 7 reported.

The L.A. County coroner's office was working to identify the body, believed to be a Hispanic female, but authorities believed the remains belonged to the same woman whose pelvis and legs were found Saturday at a water treatment facility in Carson, some 30 minutes south.
Police believed the woman may have been dumped into a sewer in one
piece and then ripped in two by sewage equipment that sends liquids to
one plant and solids to the other.

"Anything that comes into the Los Angeles water plant must move through a 17-inch line before going through a central pump. So you imagine what kind of damage to a person's body would happen," L.A. Sheriff's Lt. Mike Rosson told the Los Angeles Times.
City officials said the region's drinking water was not affected, the station reported.
