Mayor Nutter: 'Public sentiment is shifting' | #GunCrisis: Philadelphia
http://guncrisis.org/2012/04/13/mayor-nutter-got-a-gun-go-to-jail/
You know nowadays I'm starting to believe that jail is too easy for anyone who takes another persons life (in my opinion)
Let's see:
- They get to be with friends they haven't see since their incarceration
- They have a bed/cot to sleep in
- Guaranteed 3 meals a day
- Health Benefits
- Educational Resources and
- Cable to name a few
OK their freedom is taken away. Sadly, enough many of the individuals who are incarcerated were imprisoned in their hearts, minds and souls while living on the streets. Well, at least in jail they have the structure they were missing out here.
Honestly, I don't think the threat of jail is scary enough! For real for real it seems like going to jail adds more to their street credibility then managing reform.
The titled of the article should read: Got A Gun; Get the Death Penalty! Then I wonder how many of them would think first before they do the crime.......I wonder would the violence rate reduce. In this day and time.....people need more fear then the threat of jail....What do you think?
Holla at me.....Philly's Own Gossip Girl signing off
xoxo
