MLK service Day Jan. 16th

Good afternoon friends,

On Monday January 16th,  2012 I will be hosting a Martin Luther King service day here on the New Beginnings Academy Campus located at 215 E. 21st, street, Chester Pa. 19013. My goal is to have 100 volunteers on campus. I already have commitments for Villanova and Cheney. It would be great to have some adults here to lead by example. We will be here between the hours of 9:30 & 3:00. Two hours of your time would be greatly appreciated. We will be cleaning, painting, moving furniture, and setting up our library.

If you cant make it we are accepting donations such as water, cleaning supplies, and pizza. If you would like to participate please contact me at (610) 876-2875. I can also be reached by email at nbaacdemy@yahoo.com. There will be tee shirts for the first 100 volunteers.

Prison Reentry Ends Planning Meeting

Dear Sir/ Madam,
If you have not already done so, there is still time to RSVP to attend the design workshop aimed at catalyzing new thinking about successful programs that help reintegrate “returning citizens” into our communities after incarceration.  This event is being hosted by the Organizational Dynamics Program at the University of Pennsylvania and will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Houston Hall, Class of ‘49 Auditorium, University of Pennsylvania, 3417 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.  Complimentary lunch will be provided for all attendees.

There are many people and institutions involved in the work of supporting the efforts of formerly incarcerated individuals to find employment, housing, and reunite with loved ones while promoting safety in our communities.  Your participation as a stakeholder is important to the attainment of the goal of this workshop.  We hope you will join us!

To participate, please RSVP by January 6, 2012 to Rasheeda Hubert at rhubert@sas.upenn.edu.

For more information, please contact Jamila Medley at jmedley@sas.upenn.edu.

If you have already replied, thank you for your response.

Sincerely,

Larry Starr
Director, Organizational Dynamics
