Police search for ballistic evidence after one man was killed and another was wounded
in a shooting incident

According to investigators, police responded to a radio call for gunfire around
11:30 p.m.
and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk in the area of North 5th
and West Grange Streets.
A 24-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the chest was rushed by police
to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Samuel Cave,
20, of the 400 block of Champlost Street, according to
metro.us.
CBS3 reported that the second victim was listed in critical condition at Einstein. The
Associated Press reported that he had been shot four times. The incident took place just feet from the J.R. Lowell Elementary School, according to
6ABC.
As we reported earlier, another man was shot to death in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia
Tuesday night. According to investigators, police responded to a radio call for
gunshots on the 7200 block of Ogontz Avenue in West Oak Lane around
9:46 p.m. and found
a 33-year-old man lying in the doorway of his apartment and suffering from four gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead at Einstein Medical Center, according to
Philly.com. Police said
that the 33-year-old victim was shot twice in the chest and twice in the left arm, according to a report from
CBS3.
The incident took place near a pizza shop, according to an
Associated Press report.
CBS3 said that the victim was shot after answering a knock on his door.
Shortly after
2 a.m. Wednesday morning, police in the 22nd District responded to a radio call for a shooting on the 2500 block of West Marston Street, not far from the corner of North 27th and West Huntingdon Streets in North Philadelphia. Officers found a 32-year-old man suffering from four gunshot wounds.
The victim was struck in the neck, chest, arm and abdomen, according to
Philly.com. Police rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, although
6ABC later reported that the victim was pronounced dead.
According to police, they were searching for a white pickup truck which was last seen heading west on Huntingdon Street.
Finally, a 21-year-old man was reported in stable condition after he was shot while sitting outside his house on the 2500 block of North 18th Street, near West Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia overnight.
Police said that numerous shots were fired toward the victim but that he only suffered a graze wound to the chest. Police were looking for a white Ford Taurus that may have been related to the incident.
